John was one of the original team at Systems Union Group, www.systemsunion.com, the authors of the SunSystems accounting and business software package. As President & Chief Operating Officer he oversaw the growth of the company from revenues of £100k to $100m, a £7m funding round with 3i and remained with company as a non executive director until the company was AIM listed in 1999.

In 1999 he joined Oxygen Solutions, a CRM vendor, as Chief Executive Officer. Working with the original founders and investors Kennet Capital & Thompson Clive he returned the company to profitability, grew the revenues 30% to £4.9m and sold the company in 2000 to Aspective, www.aspective.com, generating a fourfold growth in shareholder value in 16 months.

In 2001 he was appointed CEO of Zeus Technology, www.zeus.com, an Internet infrastructure vendor. The company had raised total of $17m funding but had over-expanded in the dot com boom. Working with the original founders and investors Cazenove Private Equity & Cross Atlantic Capital Partners, he restructured the company to achieve near break even, negotiated the breaking of onerous property liabilities, determined and executed a new product strategy and raised an additional £1m from the existing investors.

In 2004 he founded Really Simple Systems, free and enterprise cloud crm, the hosted CRM system for small and medium sized companies.

John also works with numerous companies in non-executive, advisory and consulting roles.
